1 / 4
The White Kovel Castle was built of brick and stone in the Dutch Renaissance style in the second decade of the 17th century, approximately in 1612, by the owner of the town, Semyon Sangushka. The dominant feature of the building was the five-story tower at the entrance gate. The castle suffered greatly during the "bloody flood" and the Northern War. The castle was finally destroyed under the new owner, Senator Semyonov, who dismantled it brick by brick.
