The Jewish cemetery (G G106 XVI, XVI-XVII centuries.

The Jewish community first settled in Rogachev at the turn of the XVI-XVII centuries. Until the middle of the 19th century. Jews already made up the majority of the city's population. The Jewish cemetery on the high bank of the Dnieper River was most likely founded in the second half of the 17th century. They are located in the area of Sannikov St.. The oldest tombstones date back to the early 19th century. The last burials were made in the 1970s. The tombstones have many different bas-reliefs.

On the edge of the city, near the road to the village of Merkulavichi, behind a new fence with a modern metal gate, you can see ancient Jewish cemeteries, on the territory of which there are about two hundred graves. Perhaps the churchyard was founded in the middle of the 17th century, but, unfortunately, no graves of that time have been preserved. The last burial at the cemetery was held about 10 years ago.

St. Michael's Cathedral (1797-1825)

The brick rotunda church in the classicist style was erected at the very end of the 18th century as a Catholic shrine, consecrated in honor of St. Joseph. After the suppression of the uprising of 1863-1864, the church was reconsecrated as a church. During Soviet times, in 1963, a planetarium was opened in the church, and ten years later the majestic three-arched gate in front of the church was demolished. The residential building of the Piarist monastery, under which the church was once built, has been preserved. In 1996, the church was returned to believers.

Defensive rampart

This defensive structure in the form of an earthen rampart was erected by Russian troops after the capture of the city during the Livonian War. But the rampart did not bring much benefit, since fifteen years later the city was liberated by the troops of Stefan Batory. Today, the city stadium is located behind the rampart, where a composition of gold products from the 9th century was found in the 1980s.

Defensive structures of the First World War

Back in the middle of the 19th century, the settlement had a different, perhaps original name - Shalutsky. Near the village, in a young pine forest, defensive structures made of durable concrete, built by German soldiers during the First World War, have been preserved.

Monastery fence

According to historians, the monastery was founded in the middle of the 17th century. Once upon a time, four Orthodox churches stood on the territory of the monastery. The main buildings were destroyed during the Second World War. Some of the buildings were destroyed in the 1950s, when a dairy was built on the territory of the monastery. The fence of the monastery, the temple and the chapel have been partially preserved.

The glass factory "Neman" was founded in 1883. The factory's production buildings and administrative building have been preserved in excellent condition. One of the founders of glass production in Berezovka, Julius Stolle, who died in 1927, is buried in the Catholic cemetery on Lysa Hora. In the cemetery you can also see a stone in honor of the consecration of the cemetery in 1905.

The lake. Ancient settlement

Nearby, near the village of Gorodishche, on the Menka River, there is the largest settlement in Belarus. Over time, it is planned to include it in the boundaries of the museum. According to historians, the city of Minsk existed here in the X-XI centuries. It is possible that after the terrible raid of Vladimir Monomakh in 1084, modern Minsk was born in a new place at the confluence of Nemiga and Svisloch.

It was only in 1976 that a government decree was issued on the establishment of the State Museum of Architecture and Everyday Life near the village of Strochitsa. The museum is located 5 km from the ring road of the capital, in the center of the Minsk upland, on the banks of the rivers Ptich and Menki, between the villages of Strochitsa, Ozertso and Volkovichi.

The lands allocated for the museum are themselves a monument to the geological history and evolution of the landscapes of our country. Their area is more than 150 hectares. After the decree was issued, the grandiose work of artists, ethnographers, architects and historians began immediately to collect and study architectural monuments and household items created by our ancestors. Expeditions of specialists were sent to different parts of Belarus to search for monuments of wooden architecture.

The museum's interesting and multifaceted work continues today. About 24,000 exhibits have been collected, restored, and restored in the museum's collections. The museum's exposition includes such monuments of folk architecture as churches, chapels, windmills, a blacksmith shop, a tavern, a public school, residential buildings and outbuildings, wells, fences. The territory is well landscaped and landscaped. There are roads and paths. Recreation areas with swings, benches and playgrounds for children and adults have been created.

Many of the museum's exhibits have the status of historical and cultural values and are listed in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus. Of particular interest is the construction of an entire village street. This is the most visited place of the museum. There are more than ten residential buildings with threshing floors, cages, poultry houses, and barns. Gates and gates, courtyards surrounded by buildings, the interior of village houses, household items and handicrafts give a complete picture of the way of life of our ancestors.

Back in 1908, the famous Belarusian artist Ferdinand Ruschits hatched the idea of creating the Belarusian skansen, an open–air museum of architecture and everyday life of our ancestors. The First and Second World Wars prevented the realization of the idea.

Olekhnovichi

A rather beautiful one–story railway station building was built of high-quality red brick in 1924 on the modern line G152 Passazhy-Passazhy-Passazhy G35 Passazhy. This is the former Lubavo-Rivne Railway, which ran through the G120 line and G152 line to Vilnius and Kaunas. The piece of railway on which the station in Olekhnovichi stands today was laid from 1880 to 1881. Initially, there was a small wooden station building here, and only in 1924 a brick building appeared here — today we consider it as a monument of civil architecture of those times.

Anielka Mountain

Next to the R107 road leading to Timkovichi, the most beautiful peak of the environs of Nesvizh has been preserved. Its height is 236 m. A church in honor of Archangel Michael was once built on its top at the expense of John King Khodkevich, which is why the mountain today bears the name Angelskaya. There was a wooden and then a Stone Jesuit monastery here. All this was destroyed by the Moscow authorities. And in Soviet times, they even wanted to demolish the mountain, after which a huge quarry remained here. In 2019, a liturgy was held near the mountain in honor of St. Michael, and a stone with a memorial plaque was placed on its top.

It was in the mirskaya tavern that a rather significant event took place in the life of Vladislav Syrokoli. Here, in 1844, he heard from the postman a touching story about his tragic love. The poem "The postman" was written based on this story. The Russian poet L. Trefalyov translated it into Russian, and later it was set to music, which is how the famous song "When I served as a coachman at the post office" was born. The poet's wife liked the poem, and Vladislav sent it to the Athenaeum magazine in Vilnius, where it was published.

Based on various historical documents, it can be assumed that in the late 14th - early 15th centuries. the Onufrievsky Monastery was founded here. In the 17th century. the monastery became Uniate. Since 1836 it has been Orthodox again. The grandiose building of the Onufrievsky Church in the late Baroque style, built of brick in the middle of the 18th century, has been preserved. Next to it are the ruins of the "warm church".
