Church of the Intercession

On the outskirts of the village, at the local cemetery, in the shade of old pine trees, stands a simple wooden church built at the very end of the 19th century. The Church of the Intercession was built in the style of folk architecture. A small roadside bell tower may have been built later. An ancient stone cross with a date stamped on it has been preserved in the same cemetery.

The first Uniate wooden church in this settlement has existed since almost the middle of the 16th century. which was rebuilt after 1839 as an Orthodox shrine. After the uprising of 1863-64. A new church is being built on the site of the ancient temple. It is made of rubble stone with the use of red brick, which was decorated with window and door openings, corners and decorative friezes. An Orthodox church was consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. The stone fences may have remained in the previous Uniate shrine.

Another good example of the architecture of folk architecture. The main volume is the prayer hall of the church, which is joined in harmonious volumes by the apse of the temple and its vestibule, above which stands the bell tower. You can also see the Church of the Intercession, which was built in this village in 1878. The temple is coolly decorated with wooden carvings.

Pokrovsky Cathedral

The city was founded in 1871 in connection with the construction of a station on the Brest-Moscow railway. Since 1884, it has been a small town called Razvodovo, and the village Baranovichi has been known since 1627. Several noteworthy monuments have been preserved in the city. The wooden church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the eclectic style (1924). The synagogue (1822). The fire station (1930). The Koranevski manor house is the oldest brick building in the city. The Pokrovsky Cathedral in the classicist style (1924). The cathedral has seven mosaic panels from the Warsaw church, destroyed in 1920.

The Pokrovsky temple was built of wooden beams in the style of folk architecture in 1870. The temple has survived to this day without significant changes, only the ringing dome, according to the old-timers, was originally taller and of a different shape. In the temple you can admire the ancient icons painted in the middle of the XVII century.

Archbishop's Palace

Perhaps this building was built as an administrative or residential building, but around the middle of the 19th century, the Jewish community of Mogilev bought it and rebuilt it as the main synagogue of the city. In 1925, the synagogue was closed and adapted for household needs. Today, small shops are located in the building of the former main synagogue.

Bulgakov's Palace

In 1823, the construction of a brick palace in the classical style began, which lasted for more than two decades. The palace was built under Ignatius Bulgak, a representative of the noble family, which led the history from the beginning of the 14th century. By 1900, the palace formed a closed courtyard. The residential wing, which also had a greenhouse and a winter garden, was destroyed for unknown reasons. However, it can still be restored.

The Butrimovich Palace

In 1774, the construction of a majestic brick Baroque palace with elements of classicism began. The Pinsk judge, a representative of the famous Butrimovich family, Matvey Butrimovich, owned the palace. The end of the construction was timed to coincide with the visit of the last king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Stanislaw August Poniatowski, in 1784. And the beginning of the construction of the palace coincided with the birth of the daughter of Yuzefa, the future mother of the artist, in the Butrimovich family.

The Radziwill Palace in the late classical style, built of brick in the middle of the XVIII century, has been preserved in this village. The central part has two floors, the side wings are one-story. On the edge of the village, near a small picturesque pond, a stone watermill was built in 1819, of which only ruins remain today. In 1751, the Church of St. Nicholas was built in the Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau style. Yuri. Nearby there is a bell tower and plebania of the 19th century. You should definitely look at the interior of the temple and, if possible, listen to the organ.

Radziwill Palace

The Palace of the Khreptovich family

The palace of the magnate family of Khreptovich has been preserved. Various office buildings and wings of the palace are still used for household purposes today. In the Christian cemetery, you can see brick chapels and ancient gates in the Neo-Gothic style. The Church of St. Elijah was built of brick in the retrospective Russian style in 1866. Solid structures of trains have been preserved on the embankment of the Western Dvina. Ancient Jewish cemeteries have been preserved in the city.

The Rumyantsev and Paskevich Palace

The architecture of the Gomel Palace features both classical and eclectic styles. The palace was built in stages, starting in 1777, when the main, central building was erected. At the beginning of the 19th century. two wings have been erected. Until 1835, Count Rumyantsev was the owner, then representatives of the Count family of Paskevich became the owners of the palace. In 1837, the galleries, the sacristy and the tower of the palace were completed according to the project of the Polish architect A. Idzkowski. The palace was restored in 1925 and after the Second World War.

The Umyastovsky brick neoclassical Palace was built in 1877 by architect Marconi. This is a very close copy of the palace that was erected in Warsaw. During the First World War, the palace housed a sanatorium for German soldiers. A refrigerator, a barn, a distillery, two outbuildings and other outbuildings have been preserved. There was a fire here recently. Such an architectural marvel can soon turn into ruins without proper care.

Snov has been known since 1529. Since 1564– the place has been ON. The classical-style palace, built by the Rdultovsky gentry in 1827, has been preserved here. In 1925, the Gartings handed it over to the Polish border guards. St. Peter's Church St. John the Baptist was built in 1760. It was closed in 1866. It was restored in 1991. The Baroque style. St. Peter's Church Kozma and Demyan were built in 1836. The manor house (early 19th century) and the outbuildings of the Garting estate have been preserved in Gorny Snovo.

The Palace of the Goths

First of all, it is worth seeing the Gotovsky estate: gates, distillery, stable, various outbuildings, a magnificent landscape park on the banks of a small river, the wing of the palace and the palace itself, built in eclectic brick style in 1890, It is definitely worth seeing the interior of the palace. Not far from the Gotovsky Palace, on the site of a children's concentration camp, a memorial complex was created in 2006.

Gilzen Palace

There are huge ruins in front of us. These are the remains of the former Gilzen Palace. It was built of brick in the classical style back in 1782. Around the ruins there is a picturesque landscape park, one of the best in Vitebsk region. The hospital building, preserved from the former monastery of missionaries, was built of brick in 1759. The wooden church of St. George (1878) and the ruins of the foundation of the Trinity Church, built in 1783, have also survived to this day.

The Potemkin Palace

The first information about G G143 dates back to the 11th century. Since the 15th century. The city was part of the Inc. Today, three Orthodox churches can be seen here: the Church of the Resurrection (1838), the Church of the Intercession (1946) and the Church of St. Peter. St. Nicholas (1838), built on the site of a pagan temple. The building of the post station (19th century) and the beautiful building of the Potemkin Palace, erected in 1779, have been preserved.

The city and the palace suffered significant damage during the Northern War, in 1702-1710. From about 1715, the castle began to lose its defensive significance and began to acquire the features of a palace and park ensemble. Restoration works are beginning to be carried out, in which, in addition to the famous architects of that time, K. Skachpani also took part. As a result, the palace acquired a Baroque style.

In 1806, Count Joseph Tyshkevich built a huge palace and park complex in the classical style on the site of the former castle. Today, a military unit is located in the Central Palace Building, so you can only view the building from afar.

A two-storey large building with rusticated corners is located at the back of the Tyshkevich Palace. The third floor may have been built after 1939, when the Tyshkevich family left their possessions with the advent of Soviet power. The adjacent park, founded in the 19th century, is sometimes significantly damaged and has been preserved only in fragments.
