St. George's Church

The Church of St. George was built in the style of folk architecture on the site of an ancient temple in 1910. Until 1990, the church had a warehouse for fertilizers and building materials. The church is listed among the architectural monuments of Belarus. Today, the shrine has been restored and is open to the faithful.

St. George's Church was built in the Art Nouveau style from wood in 1887. This wooden miracle is truly a decoration of the surroundings. On the edge of the village stands a memorial chapel made of hewn stone, erected in the 18th century, and possibly later, during the war of 1812.

You can also see the barracks of the Polish garrison (1920), ancestral buildings (XIX century).

The Skirmunt estate has been known since the middle of the 15th century. Kolodnoye is the birthplace of the famous artist Gelena Skirmunt, whose grave is located in the Catholic cemetery in Pinsk. Fragments of the park and a steam mill have been preserved from the estate. In the cemetery stands the wooden church of St. Dmitry, built in the style of folk architecture around 1872. Next to the temple stands a small wooden bell tower (XIX century).

In written sources, this settlement has been mentioned since the 16th century. The Church of the Holy Spirit was built in the style of folk architecture in the middle of the XVIII century. At the beginning of the 19th century. during the reconstruction of the temple, a portico on six columns appeared. A respected icon is kept in the temple.”Mother of God of Podlesky." The temple was built in the lines of folk architecture from wooden beams in 1817. Perhaps it was originally a Uniate or Catholic shrine. The temple was inactive for a long time and was finally restored only in 1990. Today it is known as the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. St. John the Theologian. The miniature two-tiered vestibule of the shrine is also worthy of attention.

The example of this shrine shows that, unfortunately, many facts from our glorious Belarusian history have been lost forever. This religious building was erected in 1788, but it is not known which denomination it originally belonged to and what fate awaited it after 1864. It is only known that in 1937 the church of St. Elijah was significantly rebuilt, its original appearance was significantly changed.

There is documentary evidence that at the end of the 17th century there was a wooden church in the village. The locals claim that he was Uniate. In 1816, a new wooden shrine was built on the foundations of this temple-a church in honor of St. Elijah in the classical style. The shrine consists of a vestibule, a prayer hall and a pentagonal apse.

You can also see the synagogue building (19th century) and a Catholic roadside chapel behind a fence in a private courtyard.

The settlement has been mentioned since the 16th century. The temple stands out with its beautiful and unusual decor and looks more like a provincial railway station building. This is the church of St. M. the Archangel, built in the pseudo-Russian brick style from 1903. Since 1920 it has been used as a fertilizer compound. After the Second World War, a club was organized there. The church was recently returned to the faithful.
