St. Peter's Church The Prophet Elijah

At the end of the XVIII century, probably in 1778, the church of St. Nicholas was built here from pine timber. The Prophet Elijah in the style of folk architecture. Perhaps the temple was originally Uniate, and in the second half of the 19th century it was transferred to the Orthodox Church. The relatively small temple originally had three entrances: a central one and two side ones. This shrine stands near the village, in a very picturesque place.

The settlement has been mentioned since the 15th century. Since 1486, it has been a place of Inc. In 1869, the Church of St. Peter and Paul was built of stone and brick in the retrospective Russian style. The church was built according to a standard design. It is worth paying attention to the original building of the settlement, which has been preserved since the end of the XVIII century. The buildings of the synagogue and the tavern have come down to us in good condition. In the cemetery you can see a burial cellar and a chapel.

The Orthodox church was built after the uprising of 1863-1864. In 1911, the shrine was moved to the cemetery, which today is located on Pervomaiskaya Street. The church was built of wood in the style of folk architecture with elements of classicism. Perhaps, at the same time, the temple was partially rebuilt and the dome system was improved. The church houses icons of the XVIII-XIX centuries.

Perhaps this church was originally Catholic. Today it is the church of St. Peter and Paul. The shrine was built in the late 1930s from concrete blocks. The temple stands near the village, next to the old cemetery. Several tombstone chapels, built of brick and stone in the second half of the 19th century, have been preserved on the territory of the cemetery to this day. The chapels need urgent conservation.

In the XVIII century. An Orthodox chapel was built here in the style of folk architecture made of field stone and wood. St. Peter's Church Peter and Paul in the pseudo-Russian style was built of stone and brick in 1868. Next to the fence of the temple there is a memorial stone with an inscription stating that a monument to Philip Orlyk, a native of this village, the author of the first Constitution of Ukraine, will be erected here.

On the edge of the village, next to the road to G156, the church of St. Peter and Paul was built in 1861 at the expense of merchant Sveshnikov. It was built of brick in the pseudo-Russian style. The temple stands on the site of an ancient wooden shrine. There was a public school attached to the church, which was visited by Yanka Kupala in 1889-1890. In 1991, the church was renovated and opened to the faithful.

Peter and Paul Church was built in the retrospective Russian brick style in 1875. During the years of Bolshevik atheism, the temple was in stunning desolation. In 2002, restoration work began. And so, three years later, the white stone walls and graceful domes rose solemnly to the sky, and the doors of the shrine reopened to the faithful.

St. Sergius Church

The rare architecture, the rare decor, the complex combination of architectural styles of this manor house is impressive at first glance. It was built of stone and brick in the former Khludinsky estate in 1869. Today the house is in ruins. But one of the wings has been perfectly preserved. There are also buildings of a farmyard in the ruins. In 1882, the church of St. Sergius in the pseudo-Russian style was built of stone and brick.

The church of St. Simeon Stylites in the neo-Russian style was built of brick in the central part of the village. Experts on the cult architecture of Belarus claim that there are only two temples of this design in our country – in Zembin and in Barku.

The village of Mestkovichi lies comfortably among the flood meadows of the G G116 Veska River. The R147 road leads to it. There is an Orthodox church of St. Peter in the village. The Trinity. In 1894, a magnificent temple was erected in honor of the Battle of Kupchyn. The temple was built in the retrospective-Russian style of brick. The memorial chapel, erected in 2004 in honor of the rebels of Tadeusz Kościuszko who died here on September 6, 1794, is noteworthy. The words "For our and your freedom" are engraved on one of the faces of the pyramid.

Until 1935, this village was known as Tsarevtsy. In 1931, a cinema was built from the logs of a wooden church that had stood here since 1876, which two years later became a village club. In 1640, the brick Uniate Church of St. Mary the Virgin in the Baroque style was built, which was later rededicated into a church. The roadside chapel in the classical style was built in 1806. The wooden Church of the Holy Cross in the style of folk architecture was built in 1764. Next to the village, by the road, stands a large hillfort, built by our ancestors in the distant third century. It is worth seeing the ancestral buildings, which have been preserved since the 19th century.
