In 1597, the city received Magdeburg rights and its coat of arms. A variety of ancestral buildings have been preserved, some of which have been preserved since the middle of the 18th century. Most of the ancient buildings have been preserved in the central part of Vitebsk. Every house here is a page in the history book of this city.

Bust of Tadeusz Kosciuszko

A famous settlement from the 15th century. Since the middle of the XV century. - the property of the ancient noble family Kosciuszek. The park and driveways have been partially preserved from the estate. A museum dedicated to the famous Belarusian Tadeusz Kosciuszko has been created in the building of the local school. In 1988, a bust of the hero was erected in front of the museum. In 1889, one of the magazines wrote that in these places there is a tradition to take off your hat when you drive past the Kosciusko estate, and put it on after the estate is lost from sight.

Berezinskaya water system

This village is located on the territory of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve. It was founded in 1925. The Berezinsky water system is included in the list of historical natural values of the Vitebsk region of Belarus. It was laid from 1797 to 1805. The Domzharitsev tourist and excursion center has a hotel building, a sports center, a tour desk, a coffee shop and a restaurant. Guests are offered a variety of guided tours of the reserve.

On the always full-flowing and bubbling Gavya River there is a watermill made of poorly processed fieldstone and brick, erected around the 30s of the XIX century. In the mid-90s of the last century, it was still powered by an electric motor. Today the mill is abandoned. The roof is leaking, the working mechanisms are looted or damaged.

It is impossible to pass by and not see the watermill building, which has been so well preserved since 1886. Such buildings have always attracted not only picturesque natural places: a combination of lakes or frisky streams surrounded by forests or vast meadows, but also a wealth of stories and legends from folk folklore.

I really wanted to catch the four-story water mill, built of wood in 1884, still "alive". We must hope that many more travelers will see the mill in good health. True, there were attempts to saw it down and stretch it for firewood, but the locals stopped the barbaric intentions. I would like this wooden miracle of our talented architects to stand for more than one year.

By the road leading to Vasilishki, not far from the small village of Kleshnyaki, behind a dense overgrowth of vines and apple trees of the old orchard, a watermill has been preserved in good condition. The lower floor of the mill is made of rubble stone, the upper one is made of concrete blocks. The mill was built at the end of the 19th century.
