Dominican Monastery: building
Originally, the monastery, founded in the early 17th century, was wooden. After the fire, a stone church and a monastery building were built (1770s). After the uprising of 1830-1831, the Russian authorities closed the monastery and opened a men's gymnasium in its buildings. And after the uprising of 1863-1864, the church was destroyed. The monastery's residential building, built in 1735 in the classical style, has been preserved. Until our time, it has been rebuilt several times, losing its original features. The building's address is 8 Sovetskaya Street.
