Ascension Church

At the entrance to the village, guests are greeted by a lovely Classical-style roadside chapel, built in 1872. In 1867, a brick Ascension Church in the retrospective Russian style was built on the central square. In 1879, a parish school and a two-tiered bell tower were built nearby. The village offers a beautiful view of G172⟫ with its bends and old trees.

In 1735, this temple was built in the village of Kamen-Shlyakhetsky. It was originally a church. In 1876, the temple was moved to the village of Gorodets. Today it stands on a low stone foundation on a gentle hill in the central part of the city. Now it is the Ascension Church in the style of folk architecture.

The wooden Ascension Church, built at the very beginning of the 19th century, has been preserved in this village. Perhaps it was originally a Uniate church. Only an outbuilding in good condition and the ruins of outbuildings have been preserved from Domeyko's estate. In 1802, ethnologist, geographer, geologist, and national hero of Chile Ignat Domeyko was born here. There is a bust and a memorial stone in honor of Ignatius Domeyko in the village.

Today, this wooden church in the Art Nouveau style is known as the Ascension Church. It is not known which denomination the temple originally belonged to. The shrine was built around the end of the XVIII century. Perhaps, in the 60s of the XIX century, the temple was rebuilt, replacing the domes and the apse.

The settlement has been known since 1274. In 1506, the remnants of the Tatar army were finally defeated near the city after their defeat at Kletsk. In 1652, Atrymai G130 Atrymai received Magdeburg rights. In 1866, the Ascension Church was built of stone and brick in the eclectic style. In Soviet times, there was a museum in the church. In 1939, the Soviet authorities transferred the farm and the lands to the church of the collective farm. The abandoned Orthodox Ascension Church, built of brick on the site of an older wooden church in 1868, has been preserved here.

The temple was built at the end of the 18th century, possibly before 1773. in the middle of the 19th century, the dome system was most likely significantly rebuilt. The elegant white church was built of brick in the retrospective Russian style in 1866. The Ascension Church is certainly the undisputed jewel of this village. The main entrance of the temple is decorated with a porch-locker, window and door openings are framed by figured portals and cornices.

The settlement originated in the XII century. near the ancient monastery, which was founded by the Lithuanian Prince Voishelk (in monasticism – Lavrish). The monastery became Uniate after the Union of Brest. Since 1613-Basilian. After the uprising of 1830-1831, the monastery was liquidated. The Assumption Church made of wood in the style of folk architecture was built as a Uniate church. At the end of the 19th century. it was rebuilt as an Orthodox church.

Only the entrance gate has been preserved from the Lopatinsky estate, which has recently been restored in all its glory. The Assumption Church, distinguished by its exquisite Neo-Gothic features, was built in 1852 by the architect G. Shakhta as the ancestral tomb of the Lopatinsky gentry. In 1865, it was confiscated and handed over by the tsarist authorities to the Orthodox Church. The suspension bridge over the Saryanka River has been restored.

There is an ancient Jewish cemetery (17th century) next to the M1 (E30) highway. You can also see a two-story stone building, which may have been a steam mill. There is a fire station with a tower on the square (1903). The Assumption Church in Renaissance style with Baroque elements was built in 1654. It was built as a basilica chapel of the Uniate monastery, which was founded here in 1607.

Only a part of the park has been preserved from the ancient estate that flourished here for several hundred years. Above the village houses stands the Assumption Church in the pseudo-Russian style, built of brick in 1896. Kokoshniks, friezes, decorative portals and corner columns successfully harmonize with the color palette of the walls.

It is not known which denomination it originally belonged to, but today it is the Orthodox Assumption Church.
